We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Engineering Technician to join a busy and well-established manufacturing company based in Stone, Staffordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Engineering Technician or Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced production environment, ensuring machinery and equipment operate efficiently while minimising downtime.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, and supporting the smooth running of production machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on printing and production machinery.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults to minimise production downtime.
  • Responding promptly to machinery breakdowns and carrying out effective repairs.
  • Maintaining and servicing production equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Identifying recurring machinery issues and implementing improvements.
  • Supporting machine operators with technical issues and equipment adjustments.
  • Working closely with production teams to maintain operational performance.
  • Completing maintenance records and reporting equipment faults.
  • Assisting with machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised engineering work area.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance knowledge.
  • Experience diagnosing faults and repairing industrial production machinery.
  • Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Experience working with printing, packaging or converting machinery would be advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machinery manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work rotating morning and afternoon shifts.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent would be advantageous.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving a pick-up vehicle with a car transporter trailer to collect and deliver vehicles.
  • Safely loading, securing and unloading vehicles onto trailers.
  • Transporting vehicles between dealerships, customer sites and the PDI Centre.
  • Carrying out vehicle checks before collection and delivery.
  • Inspecting vehicles for any damage and accurately reporting issues.
  • Ensuring all vehicles are handled carefully and professionally.

Requirements

  • Previous experience driving a pick-up and towing a car transporter trailer is highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence with the appropriate towing entitlement.
  • Experience loading, securing and transporting vehicles.
  • Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle transportation procedures.
  • Confident manoeuvring and reversing with a trailer.
  • Previous experience within automotive logistics, vehicle movements or a PDI Centre would be advantageous.
