Job Title: Metal Fabricator

Overview: We are looking for a skilled Metal Fabricator to join a successful growing company. The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal pipes according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various types of metals and fabrication techniques, as well as a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.
  • Select and prepare metal materials, including cutting, shaping, and machining as needed.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as shears, saws, drills, presses, and welding machines to cut, bend, and weld metal components.
  • Perform welding, brazing, soldering, and other joining techniques to assemble metal parts into finished products.
  • Ensure accuracy and precision in all fabrication processes to meet quality standards and dimensional tolerances.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, imperfections, and dimensional accuracy, and make necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to optimize fabrication processes and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in metal fabrication or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a metal fabricator in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
  • Experience working with various metals, such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Proficiency in operating fabrication equipment and tools, including saws, shears, drills, presses, and welding machines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.

The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various types of machinery to ensure efficient production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up machinery according to production specifications, including calibrating settings, adjusting speeds, and loading materials.

  • Monitor machine operations to identify any issues or deviations from production requirements, such as equipment malfunctions or material defects.

Job Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent (with no more than 3 points, SP only)
  • A minimum of 6 months UK 3.5 tonne van experience
  • A good level of physical fitness is an advantage
  • A good level of numeracy and literacy required
  • Must own a smartphone (for delivery destinations and proof of delivery)
  • Must be tech savvy and has knowledge of using WhatsApp and other applications
  • Daily vehicle check must be carried out

Driver Pay and Hours

  • £11.00/hour Monday to Friday
  • Ongoing work for the right candidate and Temp to Perm Contract Available
  • Length of shift varies but will be paid for a minimum of 8 hours
  • 24/7 support and assistance

Welder/Fabricator

We are representing a leading manufacturing company that is based in the heart of Staffordshire, that are looking to expand their team. The company specialise in the design and manufacture of for various industries, including aerospace, nuclear, automotive, and power generation to name a few.

We are looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join their team, the salary/rate offered will depend on your experience and will be reviewed throughout your career. The company invests in its workforce, and could offer training and experience to expand knowledge, experience, and career development for the right individuals.

Please note that the salary will be discussed at interview, and will reflect experience.

 

What experience do I need to apply?

  • Must be able to read technical drawings.
  • Capable of welding to 0.5mm
  • Able to fabricate and work to engineers’ drawings.
  • Experience of Stainless steel, mild steel, and exotic materials
  • Experience in fixtures and assembly process
  • Experience of jigs, cutting and forming machinery
  • Able to read and interpret weld procedures according to ASME & EN
  • Preferred but not essential diploma plus a minimum of 3 years similar experience.

Compound Driver – Stoke on Trent

£10:50 – £11:00 hour

An opportunity has arisen for a Compound Driver on a temp to perm basis. Must be physically fit as the role entails a lot of walking between sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transferring vehicles on site
  • Recording work activity using a mobile device.
  • Associated administration.
  • The occasional delivery of vehicles is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience/Special Requirements

Clean driving license essential.

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday 8.00am to 17:00pm
