Job Title: Metal Fabricator

Overview: We are looking for a skilled Metal Fabricator to join a successful growing company. The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal pipes according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various types of metals and fabrication techniques, as well as a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.
  • Select and prepare metal materials, including cutting, shaping, and machining as needed.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as shears, saws, drills, presses, and welding machines to cut, bend, and weld metal components.
  • Perform welding, brazing, soldering, and other joining techniques to assemble metal parts into finished products.
  • Ensure accuracy and precision in all fabrication processes to meet quality standards and dimensional tolerances.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, imperfections, and dimensional accuracy, and make necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in metal fabrication or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a metal fabricator in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
  • Experience working with various metals, such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Proficiency in operating fabrication equipment and tools, including saws, shears, drills, presses, and welding machines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.

The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various types of machinery to ensure efficient production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up machinery according to production specifications, including calibrating settings, adjusting speeds, and loading materials.

  • Monitor machine operations to identify any issues or deviations from production requirements, such as equipment malfunctions or material defects.

What experience do I need to apply?

  • Must be able to read technical drawings.
  • Capable of welding to 0.5mm
  • Able to fabricate and work to engineers’ drawings.
  • Experience of Stainless steel, mild steel, and exotic materials
  • Experience in fixtures and assembly process
  • Experience of jigs, cutting and forming machinery
  • Able to read and interpret weld procedures according to ASME & EN
  • Preferred but not essential diploma plus a minimum of 3 years similar experience.

For the Day Shifts.

We are working in partnership with our key client to recruit permanent operatives to work in various areas across their site.  These being the Floor Shed, Timber Frame Production Shed and Truss Department.

Order books are running at a very high rate due to the increase in the house building market.  They supply to customers in England and Wales from its modern production facility in Hixon, Staffordshire.

We urgently require additional permanent operatives to join their existing teams.

If you are looking for a position with a prestigious company, and are looking for day shifts Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 16:15pm then we can offer you an immediate start.

The Role

This is a shop floor based role and will involve the setup and operation of manufacturing machines. No specific experience is required as full training will be given. The successful candidates must have had prior experience operating machinery in a fast paced factory environment.
